Film & Television: Brian Ferstman's background in entertainment dates from his days as a student of acting, directing and film & television production at the University of British Columbia in early 1980s. From then until 1994, Brian worked on the production side of the film & television industry, negotiating and working with the sorts of deals that are most prevalent in that world.

Today, Ferstman Law Office applies that valuable "hands-on" experience to its representation of producers, distributors, writers, directors, performers, composers and agents.

We negotiate and draft a wide range of rights acquisition and licensing agreements, co-production and joint-venture agreements, financing & distribution agreements, broadcast licenses, key creative (producer, writer, story editor, director, performer, host and composer) agreements, employer and contractor agreements, and studio and location agreements.

We also deal with many other transactions and issues related to film and television, such as incorporations, tax credits, errors & omissions (E & O) insurance and completion bonds.

Publishing: Ferstman Law Office represents both authors and publishers in their relationships with each other, and in their business dealings with others, such as film & television producers.

Marketing: We represent companies and talent with spokesperson, sponsorship and endorsement deals.
